Secrets of the Millionaire Mind Book Review, Summary and Notes

Think Big

Rich people focus on bigger things. They do not focus on being pennywise because they focus on being smart on pound. They won’t spend hours searching the grocery to save pennies.

“If you want to change the fruits, you will first have to change the roots. If you want to change the visible, you must first change the invisible.”

― T. Harv Eker, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth

Our belief and mindset about money are programmed from any of these:

  1. Verbal Programming – from what we hear growing up
  2. Modelling – from what we see
  3. Specific Incidents – specific events

Focus on opportunities

Rich people see challenges and problems as opporunity to provide value. As we all know, we are paid based on our value. You need to focus on making money instead of losing money.

Bless the blessing of others

Poor mentality focus on what might bad things rich people did to have what they have. Rich people are happy to the success of others.

Promote yourself and your value

Poor mindset are afraid and ashamed of selling and promoting. I have noticed from rich people that most of the time, they are promoting or selling something.

Be paid based on value and not on time

Just like with the other book I have reviewed, focus on giving value. The money will follow. Rich people focus on setting up businesses that provides value and not on trading their time for money.

Manage your time well

Rich people focus on spending their time to be educated than to be entertained. Focus on spending your time like you are investing it. Expect something in return when you spend your time.

Let your money work hard for you

We have limited time. With money, we can buy some time like leveraging other’s people time. Let your money work for you through investing.

Learn and grow

I read it somewhere that it is common for a big mansion to have a library. It is because successful and rich people spend a lot of time in learning.
